Al-Shemal Company in al-Tabqa from factory of fear to company of hope

Al-Rahba has remained for forty years representing a large warehouse for hundreds of cars and worn vehicles that participated in the works of the Euphrates Dam project at the time, and the case continued until the winter of 2012 when the armed gangs at that time controlled on al-Tabqa city, and the central Rahba was among what they have controlled on, where most of the pieces and machineries were looted and the minerals extracted from the vehicles were sold for traders of war.

With the start of the battles of liberation, the central Rahba has become deserted after being emptied by IS mercenaries due to being targeted by successive air strikes by the Alliance and by the Syrian Democratic Forces on land after liberating the north countryside of the city.

At that time, the uncovered manufacturing workshops, mortars and launchers, as well as the stuffing of tanks and artillery’s ammunition, manufacturing all types of explosive devices, and processing the booby-trapped vehicles that were put inside the central Rahba area were disclosed.

On an area of ​​about 500 square meters of hangars and warehouses that some of which still contain the rest of the estate of IS mercenaries of lathe and blacksmithing machines in addition to the metal pieces used by the latter in their military industry, the general foundations were founded after attracting a number of workers with technical expertise and a number of the workshops whose efforts focused on filling part of the needs related to the service sector and institutions such as container industry, tanks, doors, windows and office furniture were formed within the available capabilities within the absence of the international support for these important sectors.

The company which started with employing about 300 workers distributed to the following sections:

Office and Home Furniture Workshops are consisted of furniture workshops, upholstery and sewing. Its mission is to design all types of office and home furnishings in all classic and contemporary models, employing about 50 professionals. Paint and Spray Workshop that works on painting all the company's products, and about 10 professionals are working in this field. Blacksmith Workshop which makes doors, windows, tanks, containers and metal umbrellas with more than 20 workers.

As for the Lathe Workshop, all the company's requirements are to be manufactured, in addition to the winding of electric engines, and it is supervised by 8 experts and technicians. The Tile Factory, as al-Tabqa area is undergoing a period of constructional prosperity, especially in the service and institutional sectors, it was necessary to set up a brick press of all kinds, shapes and sizes. 5 workers are working in this domain.

The Aluminum Workshop works on securing aluminum materials and implements the aluminum carpentry works such as doors, windows and kitchen storages. The number of craftsmen working in this domain is about 7. Al-Shemal Company has previously established another workshop to provide primary aluminum by recycling aluminum residues and pouring them into molds for using them in manufacturing. Arabic Carpentry Workshop includes all home and office carpentry works, and it includes 6 workers.

As for the Cars Reestablishment and Coordinated Vehicles, al-Shemal Company for Reconstruction  has opened a central Rahba consisting of a number of workshops, mainly mechanics, electricity, painting, and upholstery.

Al-Rahba has focused on repairing the cars that were exposed to slight and average damage during and after the liberation battles. Accordingly, it was able to rehabilitate dozens of service vehicles (ambulances, garbage compressors, tanks and transport vehicles).

In the context of talking about al-Shemal Company for Reconstruction, it should be noted that there are several projects whose implementation was supervised such as the restoration of several schools belonging to the Education Committee in the Democratic Civil Administration of al-Tabqa area, and they are al-Kendi School, al-Jahiz, Fayez Mansour east of the city and al-Qadisiyah in the Second Neighborhood in the city.

It has also equipped the buildings of al-Tabqa Civil Democratic Administration, the Civil Council, the Women's and Democratic Society Academies, the Social Justice Bureau of al-Tabqa, the Euphrates Dam’s operation room and the al-Tawzi’ (Distribution) Square in addition to more than other ten projects, the last of which was the center of Future Syria Party in al-Tabqa city which will be opened in the near future.

Al-Shemal is still developing a number of projects into consideration which are building a school book warehouse, rehabilitating the sports city, building a shopping mall, completing the paving of main roads along the space of ​​the Democratic Civil Administration’s areas of al-Tabqa.

It is worth mentioning that the ideas of the company received wide acclaim among the masses of the area who have witnessed its work on the ground, especially the service works.

Since the liberation of the city from IS mercenaries on 10 May last year by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the city has been witnessing economic growth and crowding congestion in the markets, not to mention the green luster of the city after the dark era.
