TEV-DEM: new organizational decisions, structure at 3rd conference

The Democratic Society Movement (DEM-TEV) depends on its charter, which embodies the cause of the Kurdish people and oppressed people and resistance reaching its basic goal, the freedom of oppressed peoples from the hands of the authorities and the capitalist system, which has become a black piece in white land.

Establishment

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) was founded on December 16, 2011, aiming to reach a moral political society that is based on the liberation struggle and the liberation of women as a measure for the liberation of society, while the movement seeks to achieve co-existence between all components of society and its cultures of nationalities, religions, sects, in the framework of the democratic nation, the common homeland and a democratic constitution based on the principles of freedom and social justice in Rojava and Syria, taking the project of Democratic Autonomous Administration as a model to solve the Kurdish issue in practically and this model is not limited to the geographical or a particular region, but is a perfect solution to all outstanding issues in Syria.

Organizational structure of the movement

The organizational structure is formed according to social conditions in villages, towns and neighborhoods, and even on the streets and small population centers. The aim is to organize all segments of society within cultural, social and economic frameworks and at all levels of community. The administrative body of the communes consists of (5-9) elected members according to the direct popular vote among the members of the commune (15-35) members, with the administrative committee meeting once a week. District councils and residential sectors, includes a group of neighborhoods in cities and towns with their villages, are classified according to the distribution of population in those squares.

Priorities of the movement, faith in fraternity, equality and peaceful co-existence

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV DEM) believes in the values ​​of fraternity, equality, peaceful co-existence, pluralism and diversity among the components of society in Rojava / Western Kurdistan and the whole of Syria, while the democratic nation movement is considered the appropriate framework for coexistence on the basis of unity and diversity among all components of Syrian society. The TEV-DEM believes in the establishment of a democratic common homeland that is more closely linked to the components of society- despite diversity in sources and characteristics- and the homeland, rather than unilateralism, which means linking the nation to a single nationality. From this point of view, the movement calls for the designation of Syria as a democratic Syrian republic, instead of the Syrian Arab Republic, which suggests national dominance and separation between the children of one nation.

The Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM includes five political parties from North Syria: the Democratic Union Party, the Kurdistan Liberal Union Party, the Kurdistan National Rally Party, the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party and the Kurdistan Democratic Party. These parties operate in accordance with the rules of procedure of the Democratic Society Movement and on the basis of democratic nation and pluralism.

Formation of councils and communes

The TEV-DEM movement played an important role within the framework of building a free society as well as free decision. The movement's efforts have played a clear role in organizing society according to the necessities and variables, so that the next is not always unexpected. Therefore, the TEV-DEM since its establishment in 2011 with the emergence of the revolution or the spring of the peoples was a step always ready for any remarkable development, where the existence of the organization, and the masses insured by the decision, and looking forward to freedom was an important motivation to determine the type of subsequent management, The Democratic Society Movement  (TEV-DEM) was the backbone of the years preceding the People's Revolution, as well as the years of revolution, in the development of the form and style of administration. At the beginning of the Syrian revolution, the movement began its work in north-east Syria to form the people's councils and communes as a first step to serve the people themselves and to work towards achieving a democratic society, where the movement was able to form councils and communes in all north Syria's regions and the importance of the councils and communes as follows:

Popular Councils and communes

After the revolution of dignity and freedom in Syria and Rojava, people of Syria began to establish administrative systems in the areas liberated from Baathist regime, a system in which the people depend on themselves, so the TEV-DEM in Rojava areas organized the people through the formation of communes and popular councils, where the communes are considered the smallest administrative cell in the system and one of the most important pillars of the Autonomous Administration system that was subsequently announced in North Syria .

The People's Assembly aims at reaching the people to build a modern civilized society based on the values ​​and principles of a democratic society. The democratic liberation struggle is based mainly on the process of building a free society that believes in peaceful and common co-existence among all ethnic, cultural, religious and other components. Based on a democratic constitution committed to the principles of freedom, equality and social justice in the West of Kurdistan and Syria, while the council adopts Autonomous Administration as a model for resolving the Kurdish issue and all other issues outstanding in Syria within the framework of a democratic system Free and pluralistic on constitutional grounds.

Membership of the movement

Every person, whether natural or juridical, from social, political, cultural or civil society organizations, has the right to belong to the (TEV-DEM) and to take a place in it after accepting the charter and its commitment to its decisions and principles, commitment to principles of the democratic society is fundamental to the member of the movement and take the struggle of peaceful and democratic basis to solve all outstanding issues in society, including the Kurdish issue in Syria. The struggle for the democratic goals of the movement, the struggle for the development and dissemination of democratic culture, respect for national, linguistic, religious and gender differences in society, against the reactionary concepts left by the ruling regimes, the belief that women's freedom is the nucleus of society's liberation and essence and that on the basis of which the new society will be built.

Movement in its third conference towards serious changes

The (DEM-TEV) is preparing to hold its third conference on Monday at the Aram Tikran Center for Culture and Art in Rmylan town in Qamishlo canton in al-Jazeera region under the slogan "Free Organized Society Guarantees Victory." According to sources within DEM-TEV, the conference will make serious changes in the organizational structure, mechanism of action and future plans.
