Diseases spread in al-Shahba due to lack of drugs

The people of Afrin who were forced out of their homes as a result of the Turkish aggression on Afrin, arrived in al-Shahba canton, amid little potential in all aspects, especially health.

The Kurdish Red Crescent has managed to organize itself in al-Shaba canton and provides some medicines to people who have been ill, but some medicines are not available to them.

Diseases such as hepatitis A, hepatitis E and tuberculosis, especially among people living in Berxwedan and Serdem camps, are prevalent due to the lack of drugs that treat these diseases.

Because the Kurdish Red Crescent cannot get these medicines, because of the siege imposed on the canton, the people have to go to Aleppo and travel long distances.

On the matter, ANHA agency met with a member of the Kurdish Red Crescent and was aware of the health situation, Rashid Rashou who said that they are suffering from a shortage of medicines for hepatitis A, hepatitis E and tuberculosis, so they urgently need medicines to eradicate these diseases.

Rashou appealed to all organizations to provide medicines, saying they repeatedly called on them "but so far they have not received any support."
