US State Department’s adviser visited Kobanî

In order to develop relations between the International Alliance in Syria and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a political delegation headed by the former US Ambassador to Bahrain William Robak who is currently the advisor of the US State Department in North Syria visited Kobanî.

The delegation included other officials of the International Coalition as the delegation visited the military hospital in the city, and as the first batch of aid provided by the International Coalition to SDF, a truck loaded with physical and medical equipment was provided to the hospital.

The delegation which visited the Executive Council building in the city was received by administrators of the Democratic Autonomous Administration (DAA) in Kobanî.

The delegation was received by the co-chair of the Executive Council of Kobanî Anwar Muslim and a number of co-chairs of the bodies in the canton.

In the midst of the meeting held between Muslim and the US State Department’s adviser in North Syria William Robak, the latter indicated that the medical aid is in its initial stages and further assistance will later be provided to all military points in North Syria.

Robak stressed that the priority in the relationship with the political and military administration in North Syria would be to get rid of IS in their last strongholds east of Syria.

Robak also said that the assistance provided by the International Coalition to the wounded of SDF is a small part in comparison to the resistance they have shown defeating terrorism that was dangerous to the world, especially in Kobanî where the fighters showed heroic resistance.

While Anwar Muslim stated in his turn that they welcome the coalition's effort to support the military forces, pointing out that the International Coalition needs to support all sectors or areas in North Syria to build a de-centralized and pluralistic Syria.

The visit of the US State Department’s adviser to Kobanî is the first of its kind almost four years after the intervention of the International Coalition led by the United States in Syria.
