Book exhibition opened in Dêrik

The exhibition was opened in Tamer Mustafa auditorium in the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Office in Syria in Dêrik to receive the residents, writers and readers of all components for 3 consecutive days.

In this context, Hawar agency met with the member of the Women Organization in the Progressive Democratic Party Wedha Omar who said, "The aim of this exhibition is to educate the young people, to return to reading, to keep the young people from being too preoccupied with social networking sites and to adhere to the culture and history of the Kurdish people."

Wedha pointed out, "The Women Organization wandered in Dêrik city and its villages to collect books from the people to be displayed in the exhibition and for people, writers and readers to flock towards the exhibition and to familiarize themselves with the Kurdish cultural books and Kurdish history."

The supervisor of the exhibition Aya Othman said, "The Kurdish old magazines and newspapers in addition to the cultural and historical books, the divan of Cîger Xwîn and the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan's books were offered in the exhibition."

At the end of her speech, Aya Othman sent a message to all young people to adhere to their culture and history, give importance to their language and to avoid being too preoccupied with social networking sites.
