Celebration of 2nd anniversary of Manbij liberation launched

The celebration of the 2nd anniversary of Manbij liberation launched with the participation of hundreds of the city's residents and delegations coming from several parts of the north of Syria under the slogan "August 15, The Free Manbij Sunrise."

Today, the sons of Manbij celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Manbij liberation by the Manbij Military Council from IS mercenaries on August 12 , 2016 after 73 days of fierce fighting.

Manbij Civil Administration and its countryside celebrate on 15 August each year of this anniversary.

Manbij people of various components (Arabs, Kurds, Circassians and Turkmen) in the courtyard al-Ghassania school gathered to celebrate the liberation.

The festive arena is decorated with bright colors and there is a noisy festive atmosphere in which hundreds participate.

The people raised flags of the Future Syria Party and Women's Council in Manbij and its villages and the Self-Defense Forces' flag, and Manbij Youth Council's flag and another flag of the Turkmen Society.

Delegations from Kobanî, Girê Spî / Tal Abyad, al-Tabqa, al-Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor al-Jazeera region, as well as tribal sheikhs of Manbij participated in this anniversary.

The festivities began by holding a minute of silence , 400 fighters from the Self-Defense Forces then performed a military parade in front of the audience, and the ceremony continued with the speeches.

The ceremony will continue with delivering speeches and performances of singing and theater for several hours.
