Opening Circassian association in Manbij

For the first time, the people of the Circassian component of Manbij city have opened their association on behalf of the Circassian Association on the day of the second anniversary of Manbij city’s liberation under the slogan of "Social, Economic and Charitable."

Hawar news agency has met with Najia Kabertai, the administrator of the association, and she said that the purpose of opening this association is to teach the young people and the future generations the Circassian customs and traditions to keep them from forgetfulness and to inherit them to a generation after generation.

Kabertai said, "The work of the association will not only be limited to inherit the customs and traditions, but it will also organize the Circassian component in the city and help the needy out of the slogan, "Social, Economic and Charitable" and this is a principle for them, especially after the signs of the lack of Circassian culture in Manbaj have been appeared.”

The people of the Circassian component, especially the young grade will receive an extensive course of the Circassian dances and songs, as well as learning the Circassian customs, traditions and cooking.

Kabertai confirmed that the association will be opened for the first time in Manbij on August 15 which marks the second anniversary of Manbij city’s liberation from IS mercenaries by the forces of Manbij Military Council (MMC).

The Turkmen component is also participating in the celebration.

The members of the Turkmen Association are preparing to present folkloric shows to the Turkmen heritage during the celebration of the second anniversary of the Manbij liberation from IS, as one of Manbij citizens of the Turkmen component is scheduled to perform a Turkmen melody on the bezeq instrument.

Children of the Turkmen component will also present a Turkish heritage show, representing the Turkmen henna, and the association will prepare a Turkish cooked food. It is expected to present a congratulatory speech on behalf of the Turkmen Association.

A celebration is scheduled to take place in Manbij on the 15th of August, the day of the announcement of the liberation of the city in 2016 as the components of the city are participating side by side in the preparation processes.

The forces of Manbij Military Council, with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the International Alliance, liberated Manbij city from IS mercenaries on 12 August 2016, while the liberation was announced on the 15th of the same month.
