Scorpions, snakes' increase with heat wave's in Kobanî

With the beginning of summer of this year, Kobanî canton experienced a heavy rainfall, which resulted in floods and torrents that swept most of the villages, in addition to Kobanî city, forcing the reptiles, especially the snakes to leave the hole, and spread between houses, while the heat wave, which exceeded sometimes 42 ° C temperatures, contributed to the appearance of rodents, snakes and scorpions.

Residents of Şêran town, close to Kobanî city to the east, say they found more than 10 snakes in the town after the floods about two months ago and most of them are between 100 centimeters and 150 centimeters.

While the people of Halinj village on the eastern slope of the hill of Mushta Nur covered by black stones suffered from the large number of scorpions of black color, which spread widely between the houses of the village, especially with the heat wave in the area, which helped the emergence of poisonous rodents.

The villagers say they live in a state of fear, as the night passed rarely with the encounter of many of these scorpions.

The villagers and most of the villages in the canton cannot sleep on the ground or even sit, due to the spread of creeping insects.

When visiting these villages, the large number of iron beds made for sleeping, which rises about one meter from the ground is noticeable.

This year, the villages of Kobanî have witnessed many cases of scorpion bites, while the canton has not seen any deaths so far, according to officials in the city's hospitals.
