On the fourth anniversary of Şengal massacre, the people of Şengal who have fled to Rojava continue to live the horrors of the massacre, while their hopes for protection and autonomous administration are renewed to end the suffering of Yazidi people

Hawar news agency (ANHA) interview with number of Yazidis living in Newroz camp in Derik area in al-Jazeera region about the events of the massacre and the horrors of the Yezidis.

Khalil Qalo, from Sulax Sharqi village in Şengal, spoke of the moments he experienced when IS launched attack against Şengal, "After finishing the celebration, we heard the voices of the guns and all kinds of weapons, where IS had dominated of number of villages and areas. After the escape of the Peshmerga, IS were able to domination of Şengal, because we had only individual weapons

Democratic Party’s betrayed has facilitated IS occupation of Şengal

Qalo talked about the withdrawal of the Peshmerga of the Democratic Party, which was supposed to defend Şengal    "betrayal of the Kurdistan Democratic and their withdrawal from Şengal facilitated the passage to IS at Şengal to annihilate the Yazidi people and eliminate them, despite the possession of all types of weapons and the presence of a full brigade of Peshmerga forces in Şengal did not move and remained spectators and withdrew immediately after receiving orders from the Barzani family and left Şengal for Daesh."    

The HPG defended the Yezidis against genocide

Galo addressed the sacrifices made by the HPG fighters to protect the Yezidis from genocide, “ The People Defense Forces (HPG) intervened immediately after the withdrawal of the Peshmerga and evacuated the elderly, women and children through Sinon to Rojava to protect them from IS. Had People Defense Forces intervened, Yazidi in Şengal would have been annihilated since Daesh let the people choose to be killed or abandon their beliefs and utter the two declarations of faith.”

August 3 is a black splash on the humanity’s forehead

Qali Rasho, also from Şengal who lives in Nowruz camp, said that August 3 is a black day on the forehead of humanity, and on the forehead of all those who have left civilians exposed to the worst forms of injustice and murder by IS .

Şengal people have severely suffered from slaughtering and rape by IS which is considered crime against humanity, most of our women and children are still in the hands of Daesh and do not know their fate to this moment, and dispersal of Yezidis, some of them traveled to the region, and traveled to European countries."

" If the people of Şengal were politically and militarily organized,  they would not have been massacred, but after liberating Şengal by HPG from IS a special force was established in Şengal and the people were organized" "Yazidi women have organized their ranks and have been able to consolidate their role by receiving training courses from the political and military point of view and joining and participating in all fields."
