People's Municipality in Sherawa district in Afrin has increased its work after the district received Afrin families that have been forced  to leave their homes due to the practices and violations of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries against the residents, where water and electricity was secured for 8 villages

People's Municipality in Sherawa district in Afrin provides services to the residents of eight villages according to their own potential in terms of water, electricity and hygiene.

People's Municipality located in Aqiba town provides services to eight villages, "Ziyara, Sokhonakah, Burj al-Qas, Gundi Mazin, Klutah, Kharbakh and Aqiba. Thousands of Afrin residents are living in these villages who were displaced due to the Turkish aggression on Afrin province.

Some of the villages suffered from lack of access to water, so the People's Municipality appointed a number of tanks to transport water from Aqiba town, according to officials from People's Municipality, the price of the tank is 2,200 Syrian pounds, where the citizen pays 1,000 pounds, while the municipality pays 1,200 pounds for the tanker.

As for electricity, the price of ampere and the duration of work of the generator are determined by the investor, under the supervision of the People's Assembly. Investors face difficulty securing the fuel oil and other needs due to the siege imposed on the area, so the generators operate for four hours, and the price of the ampere is one thousand pounds per week.

The municipality is now working according to its potential to rehabilitate the water systems, in order to better reach the water. On the other hand, cleaning workers in the municipality to keep the villages clean of waste, to avoid the spread of epidemics.

In this context, the Co-chair of People's Municipality Abdul Rahman Hassan said that despite their "meager" capabilities and the severe siege suffered by all sides, "but they continue to serve the people in all respects."
