The Martyrs’ Families Council in Sherawa district in Afrin canton holds a meeting for the martyrs’ families in Bênê village at 11:00 (accompanied with photos and video).

The Yazidis living in Newroz camp, representatives of the Autonomous Administration in al-Jazeera region and representatives of the Civil Society institutions participate in the ceremonies of the anniversary of Şengal massacre. The ceremonies are held in Newroz camp in Dêrik area at 10:00 (accompanied with photos and video).

The Democratic Society Movement commemorated the martyrs of the August 3 in Şengal, saluted the resistant forces that defended and met the people’s appeal in Şengal and conducted its national duty. Society and Life

The residents of al-Janobi (Southern) neighborhood in Ain Issa district in Girê Spî / Tel Abyad, north of Syria complain from the bad smells caused by the swamp that has been form by leaking the sewage amid unconvincing justifications by the concerned sides to solve the problem (accompanied with photos and video).

It has been a destination for the inhabitants of the eastern neighborhoods in al-Hasaka city due to the availability of all their daily needs with cheaper price of other areas and commercial shops that sell the same materials, while the Bastas’ owners demanded the concerned parties to rehabilitate the market and furnish umbrellas (accompanied with photos and video).

In a house whose roof would almost fall on their heads, the fate closed its doors at them. Despite all the tragedies surrounding them, they cling to hope waiting for support to be provided to them to help and get them out of their difficult woe. This is the case of the daughters of the priest who were born deaf and dumb, and who were deprived of their only dependent mother by IS’ oppression (accompanied with photos and video).

With the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) liberation of most of the western and eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor from IS mercenaries, the agricultural sector has been flourishing after it has been declined for 4 years. Thousands of hectares are currently cultivated in the area, and this is considered a special leap in the agricultural sector (accompanied with photos and video).

The administrator in al-Hol camp Slava Sheikho said that the Iraqi refugees assured them that after returning to their country, they would apply the rules of the Syrian north; the formation of the councils and communes that are consisted of a co-chair. She also noted that they are unable to send the Iraqi refugees to their country as the borders are closed from the Iraqi side (accompanied with photos and video).

Culture and Art

The Culture and Art Center in Tal Koçer town broke the decayed customs and traditions and organized 134 persons in the art bands in a step to revive the ancient Arabic culture and art (accompanied with photos and video).

Women

Yazidi women from Afrin said, “Any force that wants to remove the identity and existence of a people, it resorts to the policy of weakening the women’s role as happened in Şengal and is happening in Afrin," asserting that they will continue the resistance and escalate the struggle to liberate Afrin, and they will not allow the Turkish occupation to exterminate the Kurdish people in general and the Yazidi people in particular (accompanied with photos and video).

The first conference of Training Women Committee of the Democratic Society of North Syria is held under the slogan, “Freedom and Beauty with Women’s Awareness to Reach the Reality of Free Life” in Rojava University in Qamişlo city at 09:00 (accompanied with photos and video).

A number of Girê Spî / Tel Abyad women in North Syria assured their adherence to the approach and philosophy of the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan, and they demanded to escalate the struggle for the freedom of Ocalan (accompanied with photos and video).

With the sponsorship of the Sport Union and the Art Committee of volleyball in al-Jazeera region, north of Syria, the match of volleyball Super Cup is held in Amoda Sport Hall at 11:00 (accompanied with photos and video). 

Politics

The administrator in the Autonomous Administration in Şengal Kheder Hamo said that the fleeing of Peshmerga and leaving the Yazidis at the hands of IS mercenaries was a plot planned for by Kurdistan Democratic Forces (KDP). Hamo assured that the Yazidis benefited from the lessons and experiences, and he said, “We would not be exposed to massacres from now and then” (accompanied with photos and video). 

The Syrian writer and politician Ahmed al-Derzi made clear that the aim of launching the attack against al-Swaida is to confuse the southern front and mix the papers, noting that the suitable solution for the Syrian crisis is what is made by the Syrians themselves, assuring that this would not be achieved but through a Syrian-Syrian national dialogue starts all over Syria to end in Damascus with a new political contract among themselves (accompanied with photos and video).

Afrin canton people have witnessed, during the last month, hundreds of kidnapping, killing and burning operations committed against the civilians, and this motivated the people to head towards al-Shahba area.
