Muslim: Damascus meeting "test" for both parties

The TEV-DEM Foreign Relations Officer, Saleh Muslim, held a press conference on the main points that Syria underwent during this period politically and militarily and the negotiations that took place.

"Syria is still going through a difficult stage because the revolution’s track by the Syrians has changed and led to the stage of authoritarian revolution, and the interference of foreign countries in bringing us to this stage," Muslim said.

As for the situation in Afrin, Muslim said, "Afrin is still occupied by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries and whom still changing its demographics through the concentration of the people of many areas of Damascus, Homs and Daraa. The violations continue such as burning, looting and murder, on the other hand, the resistance of Afrin people is still ongoing in the face of the occupation, as they are still stationed next to their land waiting for the zero hour to retrieve their land."

As for the Syrian government's invitation to the Syrian Democratic Council to Damascus, Muslim said, "what happened between the Syrian government and SDC is like talks. There is a big difference between the talks and the negotiations, the meeting was a" test" between the two parties, there are no agreements on the ground "He said.

He pointed out that the Syrian Democratic Council and the representatives of northern Syria are ready for any negotiations concerning the interests of the Syrian people and the people of northern Syria, whether in Damascus or in Qamişlo, "because the goal is to change the path to the right path."

A Muslim said that in the event of negotiations, there will be conditions for them. "Our people have sacrificed their lives to expel terrorism from their areas and they have built autonomous administration that manages themselves by themselves and we will not compromise our conditions."

Saleh referred to the last point in the conference, namely Swaida and the explosion that took place, "The bombing that took place in Swaida is a terrorist bombing. We condemn with the strongest words and we offer condolences to the victims' families, we wish the speedy recovery of the wounded as they are our people and brothers and we are from one country.
