41 hectares, thousands of trees burned in vicinity of Sorxankê village

Sorxankê village's people belonging to Sherawa district in Afrin city are helpless to the Turkish occupation and its gangs’ attacks like Firqat al-Hamzat on their lands where they revealed that the occupation burned about 41 hectares planted with grain and 4,970 olive, fig, and almond trees.

According to residents, the Turkish occupation is burning the fields and orchards in front their eyes, but they cannot do anything, because they are targeted from Kîmarê village occupied by Turkish occupation's mercenaries.

The citizen Zekeriya Majid said, “The mercenaries went to our land and burned it, and then they fled and we could not go out to put out the fire because the mercenaries were targeting anyone approaching that area."

The citizen Aisha Malla wondered “How will we secure our livelihood anymore!, our land was our only source of livelihood and after the mercenaries burned it, there is no way to secure our livelihood and we do not know what we will do.".

The Co-chair of Sorxankê village Ramzi Mohammed pointed out that they have nothing to compensate for the damage done to the people, and added "The commune has nothing to help the people of the village, due to scarce capabilities so the villagers face the problem of securing their livelihood."
