After years of interrupt … Water goes back to Ain Issa’s streams

The residents of Ain Issa in Girê Spî/ Tel Abyad canton suffered from the problem of water cuts that had not arrived for several years due to the damage caused to the water networks pumped into the city by the fighting between the regime and the mercenary gangs.

With the onset of summer and the rise of temperature, the people's municipality with the beginning of April, has begun the maintenance of water networks and supply water to the district, after increasing complaints by the people because of their suffering from water shortage.

The Water Committee in the municipality started pumping water to all the neighborhoods of the district, which is divided into four neighborhoods (Eastern - Western - Southern and the main street), but the water in the western neighborhood and the southern neighborhood pump more powerfully in comparison to other neighborhoods, as the completion of municipal workers from the maintenance of water networks.

Water is pumped in the western and southern neighborhoods for between 8 and 10 days, compared to other neighborhoods by two to three hours per day until maintenance is completed.

According to the administrator of the Water Committee, Farouk Mohammed, the cost of the maintenance of water networks amounted to more than 8 million SP.

The residents of Ain Issa said they were happy with the return of water to their neighborhoods after years of interruption, they noted that they suffered great difficulties as a result of the water cuts and they used to buy water from mobile tanks at a price of 1000 SP for 5 barrels, barely covering their daily needs.
