Rojava University Forum concludes with closing statement

The work of Rojava University Forum, which was held under the title "A Free and Democratic University" at the University of Rojava in Qamişhlo city concluded on Saturday night with a final statement.

"On July 20, 2018, a seminar entitled" Free and Democratic University" and Rojava Universities, Afrin and Kobanî had participated in the preparation of the forum, the participants had discussed, heritage and history of universities and academies in the Mideast, what curricula should be adopted in line with the scientific level, the history of universities in the world and the changes that have taken place, what characteristics should be available in the Free Democratic University, how to achieve economic sufficiency, and democratic administration, meetings, the replacement of the system of examinations with evaluation.

The forum has taken into consideration that women's science (Jinolojî) could become a social science based on experience and accumulation of women's movements, and that the real social reality can make a great difference when analyses and in-depth studies are conducted on the relationship between men and women on the rival life basis.

"The thinker Koldon Child says that the first cultural revolution occurred in the Neolithic era, which Abdullah Ocalan calls the revolution of women, so it is necessary to achieve institutional revolution in the universities and academies

He also stressed the need for universities to be open to all components, and that intellectual and scientific work can only develop in the atmosphere and conditions of freedom and away from domination.

They also discussed the necessity of a certain condition met by those who would assume administrative functions, he should be fit and competent.

They concluded "we have to be an example for the establishment of a free and democratic university"
