Florist Issam: proponent of nature protection

Day after day, we lose part of nature, where the natural green area retracts for the benefit of buildings and cement facilities under the capitalist mind, and the environment is polluted by the remnants of plants and uprooting trees and throwing waste in rivers and seas, the spirit of nature and the environment must be emitted from time to time. Issam is an embodiment of nature's resistance against pollution 

Issam Ali, aged 42, is the father of three girls from al- Zaitounia neighborhood of Qamişlo, who works with his brother to cultivate and sell flowers, at the age of 15, Issam discoverd his connection with nature and began his story by planting flowers, at first, the family did not care much about Issam's tendencies toward nature, but his insistence on work has changed his family's point of view.

Planting and caring for more than 500 species of flowers and trees

He continues to plant flowers and trees in his garden, where he currently plants about 500 kinds of flowers, flowers and trees such as basil, lily, hibiscus, and palm trees, as well as fruit tree plantations such as apples, pomegranates and others. Issam starts his work every year in February, and during spring and summer months he sells his flowers in the city's neighborhoods

He works in partnership with his wife and brother

Issam works with his wife Fatima in cultivating, caring for the field. His brother, Haji Ali, 58, sells flowers and plantations in the streets and neighborhoods. Issam says that they share life together. "Nature is in my blood. I practice this profession in order to preserve nature and protect it. Nature revives my soul and my life." He seeks to instill the love of nature in his children and teach them about agriculture.

He stopped farming for 7 years due to water outages

Before and during the revolution of Rojava, the Turkish occupation state targeted the inhabitants of the neighborhoods close to the border, and cut off the water of the rivers, and since the house of Issam Ali is located in the neighborhood adjacent to the border, he had been forced to leave his home to preserve his life and the lives of his children and also because of the interruption of water, He stopped working for 7 years and moved to Karbawi village and he returned a year ago to his work with nature, flowers and trees.

"When I work in nature and plant trees and flowers, I feel as if I am building a new life," says Issam, who writes about his daily work. "I take care of trees and flowers as I care for my children, when the flowers and trees are thirsty, I feel like my children are thirsty."

Let us work together to protect nature

"There are few people working in the flower trade," says Issam. "In the past, people used to preserve nature and take care of it, the courtyards were full of flowers and plants, but sadly they all turned into cement, we have to deal with this by planting more trees and flowers, and I will continue this work throughout my life. "
