Khamenei urged government to strengthen relations with East, West

The Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei urged the members of the Iranian government to strengthen his country's relations with East and West countries, with the exception of America.

The supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran called on the members of the Iranian government to strengthen the country's diplomatic relations with other countries.

Khamenei made the statements during a meeting held with the Iranian President Hassen Rowhani and the members of the government, and he urged to the need to strengthen the diplomacy and develop the foreign relations in an escalating manner."

Since the United States announced in May its withdrawal from the international agreement on Iran's nuclear program in 2015, and toughing the sanctions on Iran, Tehran has been intensifying the diplomatic contacts on the international scene to repel the impact of these sanctions outside its lands.

Khamenei called on the European Union after the withdrawal of Washington to provide effective guarantees in order to protect Iran's economic interests so that his country would remain in the agreement.
