Kongra Star in Aleppo to hold its 2nd conference

The first conference of Kongra Star was held in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood of Aleppo on 15/1/2017 under the slogan, "."Knowledgeable Women Are the Basis of Building a Democratic Society

A year and a half after the first conference held, the Kongra Star in Aleppo is preparing for the second conference to evaluate the conference's work within two years and to consider the mistakes and shortcomings that have hindered the conference's development.

To talk about the conference’s preparations, ANHA agency met the member of the Preparatory Committee of Kongra Star Hêvîn Suleiman.

Hêvîn Suleiman said, “We have to work on holding the second conference because of the situation witnessed in the region of Afrin and the practices of the Turkish aggression on the Syrian north and Afrin. We also saw that some negative points and gaps hindered the organization’s development more, so to fill these gaps and evolve the organizational work of Kongra Star, it is important to hold the conference.

Hêvîn Suleiman stressed that the conference is necessary for the development of all women (Kurds, Arabs, Syrians, Armenians and Turkmens) organizationally and practically because building the society and securing the future of Syria in security and stability lies in the liberation and organization of women.

Hêvîn Suleiman noted that there is a preparatory committee composed of five women will supervise the program of the conference, and a committee will write the proposals and plans within the conference.

She noted that there will be a remarkable turnout of women in the neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafiah of different peoples.

The member of the Preparatory Committee for Kongra Star Hêvîn Suleiman called on all women to organize themselves under the umbrella of Kongra Star which includes all women in the Middle East to be leaders in building the future of Syria within an atmosphere of justice.

It is worth noting that Fatima Haji was one of the founders of Kongra Star in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. She was martyred in November 10, 2016 in Shadia village in Rajo district after the Turkish occupation army fired the people of Afrin during their denunciation of the occupation of the lands of Afrin.
