Supporting agricultural sector, camps highlighted during MSD's meeting

The Development and Humanitarian Affairs’ Office of the Syria's Democratic Council held a meeting in Ain Issa district of Girê Spî canton. In the presence of the joint presidency of the Office of Development and Humanitarian Affairs Abdel Qader Almohad and Zuzan Alloush, representatives of the offices of organizations in the councils of al-Raqqa, al-Tabqa, Manbij and Deir ez-Zor and representatives of all organizations working in the north of Syria in addition to the management of Ain Issa camp.

The participants discussed the work carried out by the organizations during the past month and the difficulties and obstacles of the work. The organizations then submitted the monthly reports which include the works and services that the organizations worked on during June.

The joint presidency of the Office for Development and Humanitarian Affairs and the offices of the organizations focused on the need to direct the organizations to support the agricultural sector in the area, improve the agricultural sector and provide the necessary support to the farmers because agriculture is one of the most important sources of income for the people in the area.

The participants pointed to the need to increase support for the camps, especially the camp of Tuehina, and the need to provide more support regarding the tents and replace the torn in Ain Issa camp, in addition to giving the displaced people in the camps the priority in getting jobs in some of the projects that the organizations are working on.

At the end of the meeting, the participants stressed the need to facilitate the movement's task to the organizations at the security checkpoints in the area, and that they will discuss this issue with the competent authorities.
