Health awareness campaign launched in Deir ez-Zor

The team held a meeting on Sunday in coordination with the Legislative Council in the al-Kasra area of Deir ez-Zor in order to announce the campaign.

The meeting was attended by dozens of volunteers, including health professionals and members of the Legislative Council and the Civil Council.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence, followed by delivering a welcoming speech by the co-chair of the Legislative Council in Deir ez-Zor Marwan al-Fatih and the administrator in Health Committee of Deir ez-Zor Civil  Council Ahmed al-Hussein, stressing that it is possible to do a lot of things with little potentials.

The speakers talked about the importance of medical science, the prevention of health and environmental risks and the ways to protect human health, mentioning the steps of improving housing, insuring healthy drinking water, disposing of rubbish and combating air pollution.

During ANHA meeting with the co-chair of the Legislative Council Marwan al-Fatih, he said that the step was due to the weakness existed in Deir ez-Zor countryside, especially from the health side, and the lack of health organizations.

At the end of his speech, Marwan al-Fatih appealed to all organizations to provide support to the area. At the end of the meeting, the campaign supervisors distributed health raising-awareness brochures to the audience.
