Lebanese jurist: Turkish occupation of Afrin is unacceptable

On Monday, a delegation of Lebanese lawyers and politicians arrived to Qamişlo city at the invitation of Kongra Star and in support of its campaign which was launched under the slogan, "Women, Revolt for Afrin".

Hawar news agency met the jurist in the Human Rights and the Lebanese political activist Dona Jaluk, and she is a member of the visiting delegation to talk about their visit to North Syria.

"Our visit aims at connecting with the Kurdish women and considering their suffering closely," Dona said at the start of her speech.

Dona pointed out that the peoples of the Middle East have many commonalities. She added, "Therefore, we must open the way of communication among the Middle East societies, rather than the battles ongoing in the area."

She explained that they will go to al-Shahba canton and meet the displaced people of Afrin canton who are residing in the camps to listen to their suffering. Dona pointed out that they will shed light on the issue of Afrin's displaced people in the camps of al-Shahba, and standing in solidarity with them, and she will seek to transfer their tragedy to the forums and political circles in Lebanon.

Dona explained that one of the motives of their visit to North Syria is what the women of Afrin were subjected to including torture by the mercenary gangs, and to listen to their suffering in al-Shahba camps in order to help them to return to their homeland which was occupied by Turkey," said Donna.

"This is unacceptable at the humanitarian, social and national levels, and the land must be returned to its owners and democracy and peace must spread in the Middle East area," she said.

Dona, a jurist for the Human Rights, a Lebanese political activist and a member of the Regional Integration Forum which is a forum calls for peace among the peoples of the Middle East.
