Afrin people: biggest Eid is Afrin liberation, returning home

Few days before the Eid al-Fitr, as usually people buy new clothes, visit relatives, bless each other, and distribute candies and sweets, amid a delightful atmosphere.

Afrin’s resisting people in al-Shahba canton receive Eid away from their homes due to the Turkish occupation of it, its resident though displaced, they are still continuing to struggle and assured that the true Eid is Afrin liberation.

In Berxwedan camp in Fafin district where thousands of families that displaced from Afrin live, Hawar news agency interviewed some of its residents about the approaching Eid al-Fitr.

The child Rama Muhamad said “ because of the Turkish attacks and occupation, we are receiving Eid outside our homes, without preparations, our financial conditions would not allow to buy new clothes or toys.

Occupied our land, killed our children, and celebrating our homelessness

Mother Naema Muhamad described the Eid as of love and tolerance and said “The Turkish occupation army has changed the meanings of the holy days, we have been displaced because of their occupation to our land, they are occupying our homes, while we will receive Eid in tents.”

The biggest Eid is returning home

Uncle Hanan Khalil said that at this time, they used to intensively prepare for the Eid and buy all its requirements, where joy and happiness overwhelmed their hearts, but Turkey’s violations have deprived them of this joy. Khalil confidently assured “True Eid is our return to our homes.”
