Overloading causes frequent power outages in al-Tabqa

Over the past few days, al-Tabqa city has witnessed a frequent power outage as a result of pressure on the only electricity transformer to feed the city.

After the activation of the rationing system in Electricity Directorate in al-Tabqa city with the Ramadan month, it began to vary between the power supply power and continuous interruption.

One of the main reasons for the power outage is the excess load on the only transformer located in a distribution yard the Euphrates Dam, which is capable of 30 megawatts, because of the large and irrational consumption of electricity within the city and its countryside, especially in Ramadan month due to the use of electrical tools at the same time.

The Electricity Department in al-Tabqa has confirmed that they intend to cut off the electricity for a few minutes until the converter cooled before re-take off again, especially in the peak period, not to mention the great pressure on the substations that feed the different parts of the city also.

The Electricity Directorate strives to find alternative solutions to these problems, but the weakness of the available means prevents this.

According to the Electricity Directorate, they are currently working on the processing of converter of 10 megawatts / to be a companion and help to the main and the only one in al-Tabqa.
