Self-Defense Duty Forces are a protection shield in Manbij

The duty of self-defense is a national humanitarian and moral obligation, defending homeland and its institutions is the duty of every citizen according to the principles and values of democracy and humanity, the protection of society and the preservation of co-existence, equality and unity of diversity to create a free democratic society and on this basis the Civil Administration in Manbij city released a decision stipulating the entry of the duty of self-defense and the decision is structured as follows: : Based on the provisions of the social contract and the approval of the Legislative Council in its session No. 22 of 2 November 2017, which includes the performance of the duty of self-defense.

Who joins the Self-Defense Duty Forces in Manbij?

The males join the self-defense duty in Manbij city and its countryside, whose age exceeded age of 18 reaching to 30 years. The law does not include military forces such as Manbij Military Council and the Internal Security Forces. Each man wishing to join the ranks of Self-Defense Duty Forces in the city goes to its center to settle his situation and receive the Special Book of the Self-Defense Forces or directly join forces.

Thwarting the Turkish schemes and continuing to join the ranks of the forces

With the beginning of the decision of the Self-Defense Duty, dozens of Manbij city's children of all components joined the forces, but some external bodies such as the Turkish state has spread lies on the tongue of Manbij city's children in order to sow discord between the parties concerned for the duty of self-defense and Manbij city's people as they tried through promoting lies and failure of the decision of the duty of self-defense belonging to Manbij Civil Council  and stand in front of young people to join forces, to prevent them from performing their moral and nationa duty, but Manbij city's children foiled these schemes and continued to join the ranks of the Duty of Self-Defense and broke all attempts which targeted the youth category.

An intensive turnout after Turkish threats on Manbij city

The Academy of Martyr "Omar Nabo" is preparing to receive the second batch of Self-Defense forces, where the center of the Self-Defense Duty Forces has witnessed an intensive turnout recently and especially after the Turkish threats. Hundreds of young men from Manbij city, who reject the Turkish threats to the city to defend their land against any attack by the Turkish state or any other party, where the number of Self-Defense Duty Forces of Manbij is about 1,000 fighters of all components of Manbij.

Hawar news agency(ANHA) held interview with the Co-chair of the Defense and Self- Protection Committee in Manbij city Shilan Suleiman talking about the stages of development in the Self-Defense Duty, stressing that Manbij city's children had responded to the call of the Defense and Self-Protection Committee and joined the ranks of the Self-Defense forces on a voluntary basis, while others are preparing to go to Hussein Mohammed Academy to receive the training course.

Suleiman added "The Self-Defense Forces in Manbij reject any foreign intervention, so the Turkish state tried to create a kind of strife among the youth group in publishing lies that are far from true, but young men rejected all the lies promoted by Turkey. On the contrary, our centers witnessed an intensive turnout to join the Self-Defense Duty Forces’ ranks to defend their soil and their homeland from any aggressive attack."

At the end of her speech, the Co-chair of the Committee for Defense and Self-Protection in Manbij City Shilan Suleiman appealed to Manbij people, especially the youth group, to join the forces of Self-Defense Duty to protect their soil from any aggressive attack targeting of Manbij people and all North Syria and abandon the lies that are published after external parties.
