German MPs: world's silence about Afrin status is disappointing

A German delegation has visited Qamishlo city on Monday, included parliamentarians from the German Leftist Party, journalists, academics and filmmakers, to learn about the latest developments in Rojava areas and North Syria.

ANHA agency surveyed the views of two German leftist parliamentarians on the objectives of their visit to Rojava and their attitude towards what is happening in Afrin city after its occupation by the Turkish occupation army.

"We want to know about the latest conditions in Rojava, including the situation of displaced people living under the tents that have been displaced from their areas, and the situation of Afrin residents who have been forced to leave their homes and live in al-Shahba camp," said Zakin Nastag.

"We hope the German state to stop support and help the Turkish state, which works with IS mercenaries, and attacked Afrin with their support."

On the women's role and the cohesion of peoples in Rojava Revolution, Nastag said, "There is no such thing as Rojava revolution in the world, where women play an important role, and the peoples are united and we will support it."

"I salute the fighters of the People and Women Protection Units and all the military forces operating here, who fought IS mercenaries on behalf of the world," she said.

"It is very disappointing that the world is deafened to the attacks of the Turkish state on Afrin city, as well as the German state that supports it," said Jan Akin.
