Emergency Brigade: Strenuous efforts to save civilian lives

Emergency team and Ambulance belonging to Asayîş forces was established in North Syria in the first month of 2016, forming the nucleus of civil defense establishment. The team saves lives during accidents and natural disasters (buildings collapses, floods, traffic accidents and fires) by providing first aid to transport the injured to medical points and hospitals near the scene.

The first emergency and ambulance center was opened in Qamishlo city and a training team of eight specialists in various medical fields was organized to train the trainees in the skills of speed during the rescue and ambulance operation and to provide treatment to the injured.

Many young men and women joined the group from various regions of Rojava and North Syria since its founding, the group has reached 120 volunteers, after graduating 4 training courses in the three cities of Qamishlo, al-Tabqa, al-Raqqa each course lasted for 3 months .

The volunteers receive a theoretical and practical course on the principles and basics of emergency and anatomy and physiology of the heart, lungs and blood vessels, Ambulance for the wounds of the lungs, cardiovascular emergency, toxic infections and environmental disasters, face and jaw care, teeth, neurological and psychological diseases, pathology and neurology, field training and health and physical fitness research.

The Co-chair of the ambulance and emergency division in North Syria, Ayoub Saadoun, told Hawar news agency (ANHA) that 80 volunteers have joined the team during the last period in al-Jazeera region and al-Raqqa city and are now undergoing a training course.

Ayoub pointed out that they have centers in al-Jazeera region located in ( Qamishlo city, Hemo town, Tel-Kocer, Krizor , Kabka ) and in North Syria are located in the cities of al-Raqqa and al-Tabqa. In addition to the spread of points on the international road linking between Qamishlo canton in al-Jazeera region and Aleppo in the name of road security (road ambulance), in coordination with the security forces belonging to Asayîş checkpoints, to cover cases of traffic accidents.

On the mechanism of their work system, Saadoun said, "We have organized the timing of the work in the form of 24-hour weekly groups. Each group consists of three main teams (the ambulance crew) and each team consists of four volunteers, including paramedics, specialists and an ambulance driver."

Ayoub Saadoun explained that they have the operating room system, where they are receiving information about the accident sites from the residents or the centers of the Asayîş and Asayîş traffic through the fixed telephone service (459892) or the mobile phone number and WhatsApp application (00905536744231). After receiving the call, the operating room analyzes the information and determines the location of the incident. Then, the supervisor knocks in the operating room alarm bell; the team assigned to help gets ready in a period of 20 seconds and 30 seconds and sets off to the scene to save the lives of the injured

Saadoun noted that they coordinate with hospitals in North Syria to transport the injured after providing first aid to them and pass the stage of danger.

Saadoun pointed out that they have completed more than 1,200 emergency missions since the establishment of the division, including traffic accidents, fires and the collapse of buildings.

The Co-chair of the ambulance and emergency team in North Syria, Ayoub Saadoun, that they seek through their work to maintain the health and safety of citizens, and save their lives.
