The Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan’s statements have caused the Turkish lira to be declined to a new record low of 4.3990 lira of the dollar.

The Turkish lira continues to deteriorate due to the wrong policies of the regime of Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan. Erdogan launched a new attack on the central bank saying that he would impose the control on the economy after the presidential elections.

He said in an interview with Bloomberg television on Tuesday, "The central bank is independent, but it cannot ignore the signals sent by the president of the Executive Authority as soon as the transformation of the presidential system is completed."

Observers believe that Erdogan decided to hold early elections for fear of the economic deterioration in the country which will affect the elections and the level of voting for Erdogan.

Six candidates, including the former head of the Democratic People's Party (HDP) Salah ed-Din Dimirtash who is jailed by the Turkish Justice and Development Party (AKP) which uses the declared emergency law in the country after the failed coup d’état attempt in July 2016 to get rid of his rivals and opponents in the country.
