Kongra Star called to highlight women's status in Afrin

As part of the "Women Revolt for Afrin" campaign, Kongra Star held a series of meetings for Afrin and al-Shahba women cantons to support the struggled women in the villages of al -Shahba and camps in addition to highlight the violations committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against women in Afrin.

Kongra Star held several meetings for women today in each of "Tal Rifat and Ahris districts and Serdem Camp" in al-Shahba canton attended by dozens of women and the heads and members of all civil institutions and women in Afrin and al-Shahba.
The meetings began with holding a minute of silence. In Serdem camp, the administrative council in Fafin district, Laila Heftarou, spoke about the role of women since the revolution in Rojava and Syria, and even reaching Resistance of the Age and the prominent role of women in the march of revolution and resistance, stressing that hundreds of women who sacrificed their lives for freedom of women, such as Martyr Barin, Avista and their comrades, and their execution of the guerrilla operations, instilled fear and terror in the hearts of the occupiers and their mercenary gangs, and affirmed that women had a strong will to revolt against all forms of injustice against them and for their people and land.

In other meetings, a member of Kongra Star coordinator Rohilat Aref pointed out that Afrin was a destination for displaced people and seekers of security and peace because it was one of the most safe areas of Syria and was receiving Kurds, Arabs and Turkmen without discrimination.

Rohilat Arif called on women to step up their resistance and struggle, and to work with every effort under the current stage, because this stage requires intensive work to return home with pride.

The meetings ended with the circulation of questions and discussions among the attendees. Most of them were denouncing the silence and disregard of the human rights and human rights organizations for the violations of women in Afrin and the forced displacement of other women and the people of Afrin who had to go to al-Shahba canton to escape from the massacres and the Turkish violations.

It is noteworthy that Kongra Star will continue to hold its series of meetings for women in all the villages, districts and camps of al-Shahba canton which is inhabited by residents of Afrin.
