HPC-J concluded its 1st conference in Kobanî

The work of the conference began on Monday morning at Baqi Khiddo Center for Culture and Art in Kobanî under the slogan, "In the Spirit of the Personality of Free Women and the Resistance of the Age in Afrin, We Will Create the Freedom of the Leader Ocalan" in the presence of 325 members of HPC-J in Kobanî canton.

The works of the conference included delivering speeches by representatives of the delegations participating in the conference and the reading of the civil and service institutions' telegrams which congratulated the 1st conference to all women and the leader of the peoples Abdullah Ocalan, followed by a televised presentation of HPC-J in Kobanî canton.

The conference continued by reading HPC-J annual report in Kobanî canton. The report included the activities carried out in terms of the organization of women within the protection institutions, the opening of courses about how to use weapons, the opening of its headquarters in the Kobanî canton and the pioneering role played by women in Women's Protection Units (YPJ) in protecting the borders of the canton from any attacks and participating in the protection of activities and events which were held in the canton.

At the end of the conference, a new council for the Protection of Society and Women's Forces was elected in Kobanî canton which consists of 17 administrators, 5 of whom are female representatives of Shiran district, 5 from Sarin and Jalibia districts, 4 from Qenaya district and 3 from Kobanî district.

The members of the new council then swore the oath to work in order to protect and defend women.

Then, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement Council in Kobanî Aisha Effendi delivered a speech as she said, "The women of the Middle East have cut down the bondage of slavery with the ideology and philosophy of the leader of the peoples Abdullah Ocalan, the companion of the Kurdish woman and her leader who fought for them and reached the highest levels and held positions in all fields and became role models for women all over the world. The Kurdish women in the Middle East are working to protect all women in the world."

Furthermore, the conference ended with chanting the slogans which salute the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, and the resistance of women against injustice.
