Kurdish politician: Turkey, Russia to undermine Syria’s unity, change demographics

 Hawar news agency (ANHA) interviewed with the politician and head of the Kurdish Movement in Syria Hassan Shiekho about the demographic change the Syrian people are subjected to where he pointed out that there are countries trying to extend its control over Syrian territory and pass their own interests and a demographic change on the Syrian territory.

Sheikho noted that Turkey, in cooperation with its mercenaries, is carrying out demographic changes in al- Bab, Jarablus and Afrin, this is done in agreement with Russia. They are making a demographic change in the eastern al- Ghouta, the Damascene and Homs countryside. Finally, the interests of these occupied countries stand in the same square with the Syrian regime and Russia.”

Sheikho stressed that the current demographic changes came after agreements between the mentioned countries with the aim of imposing control over the Syrian territory, and continued "for their own projects and their interest, which requires prolonging the Syrian war and preventing a political solution."

He said the difference between north federal project and projects of the regional state "The federal project calls for fraternity of peoples and co-existence of all components, while Turkey's plans are occupation, land grabbing and demographic change".

In his speech, Sheikho explained that the current demographic changes taking place in Syria is nothing new to Turkey, "This is part of its occupation policy and we have found how it has been hundreds of years ago, and to this day, it has changed the demographic characteristics of many areas of Bakur," north Kurdistan, adding that the current demographic changes taking place in Syria are nothing new. Finally, the politician and head of the Kurdish Movement in Syria, Hassan Shiekho, called on the Syrian people to join hands together and realize the seriousness of the stage in which the region is passing.
