Youth, Sports Committee launched al-Tabqa Liberation’s Anniversary League

Under auspices of the Youth and Sports Committee of the Democratic Civil Administration of al-Tabqa area, the second league was initiated in the city and its countryside, which was named al-Tabqa Liberation’s Anniversary League.

The league was initiated as the anniversary of liberating al-Tabqa city from grip of Islamic State's gangs (IS)by the fighters of Syrian Democratic Syrian Forces (SDF) approaches on May 10, 2017.

The opening match between al- Arabi and the Olympic team was held on the grounds of al-Gaz stadium.

The opening match ended with 2-1 as al-Arabi team won over its counterpart al-Olympi.

About 16 teams from al-Tabqa city and its eastern and northern countryside will participate in al-Tabqa Liberation’s Anniversary League.

The teams that will participate in the league are "Arabi, Olympi, Safsaf, al-Amal, al-Majd, al-Sad, al-Nour, al- Najma, al-akwaa, al-Hilal, al-Jihad,al-Jala, al-Etefak, al-Baladiya , al-Naser, al-Ahli."

The league is scheduled to last for 15 days.

It is noteworthy that a previous league was organized, the first since liberation of al-Tabqa city which was named Devotion for al-Tabqa 's Martyrs League which was part of the campaign of Revolt.
