National Assembly' works continue at its 2nd day in Ramallah

The works of the Palestinian National Assembly of the 23rd session was launched on Monday evening at Ahmed al-Shuqairy Hall for Conferences in the Palestinian Presidency Center in Ramallah city in the presence of Arab and international delegations, including representatives of several Arab and European countries.

498 members from all the parties and parties affiliated with the Palestinian Liberation Organization attended the session as the total number of the attendees reached 605 participants.

The meetings of the assembly will continue for four days under the title "Jerusalem, Protecting the Palestinian Legitimacy." The opening activities of the assembly began on Monday at 9:30 local time after the quorum was completed. The head of the National Council Salim al-Zanoun opened the assembly to emphasize the necessity of the current stage in restoring the Palestinian political system so that the political system will have the strength to confront what the Palestinian future would conduct.

The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Monday in his speech, "We may make difficult steps in the near future, whether in our relations with our neighbors or with America. He assured "There is no peace without Jerusalem; the eternal capital of Palestine, and there is no state in Gaza nor a state without it."

The speeches that were delivered on Tuesday came within the opening ceremony of the assembly, and they were delivered on Tuesday as the meeting was not held on Monday on its scheduled date. During the day, transferring to specialized committees would take place to study the issues and make the necessary recommendations proposed to the assembly. During the fourth day, elections will be held including all the committees, councils of the Palestinian Liberation Organization completely.
