People with special need face death as orgs stick to inaction

The Kurdish Red Crescent works with poor capabilities to provide the medical needs of the patients, like guaranteeing specialist physicians and provding medical care and medical equipment necessary for the cases of Afrin residents living in al-Shahba canton and its camp, while humanitarian and international organizations fail to provide assistance and provide medical supplies for patients.

As a result of the lack of medicines in al-Shahba canton and lack of special care physicians, the suffering and tragedy of patients and their families is increasing, who are helpless to provide a tablet of medicine for their children.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) monitored the situation of patients with special needs and neurological and psychological diseases in al-Shahba canton's villages which is considered by Afrin people a shelter after forced displacement in light of the arrival of some cases to the stage of death.

In this context citizen Siham Sheiko mother of Zalluok suffers from cerebral palsy said "My 14-year-old daughter Zalloukh suffers from cerebral palsy due to a medical error during childbirth. We believed her medicine from a hospital in Damascus with difficulty because of the siege imposed on Afrin for years, the aggressors on Afrin came out because of the sounds of shelling that affected the health. "

Siham said" We are now in Berxwedan camp and the Kurdish Red Crescent is trying to secure my daughter's medicine, but the doses she takes are few. She needs a new diagnosis for her sophisticated case, she now has recurrent electrical episodes in the brain that could lead to her loss of life if she does not progress and has regular medications."

Zirin Mohammed, the mother of the 4-year-old girl with cerebral palsy said “When we were in Afrin we got her medicine from a hospital that offered us the treatment he had, and now my child is in a state of decline and the worst is the difficulty in getting her doses."

The suffering of the child Sevin Khalil with special needs is no less than the two other children. She also suffers from lack of food because she suffers from loss of appetite.

In this regard, the spokeswoman of the Kurdish Red Crescent Reem Qarmo that they suffer from a severe shortage of medicines because of the failure of humanitarian organizations and associations on the issue of refugees.

Reem said "The organizations that visited us promised aid, but we did not see anything in practice."

As the number of patients with special needs is increasing and reached 76 cases of disease and expected to reach the number of hundreds in the event of a larger census at the level of al-Shahba village and al-Asr camp."
