Kongra Star continues holding events for Afrin

The statement was read in Kongra Star Council in al-Gharbi neighborhood in Qamişlo city by Kongra Star's member Shimal Hussein.

The text of the statement included:

"Afrin city is subjected to brutal attacks by the Turkish army and its mercenaries; the so-called Free Army. Afrin has been known as the resistance of peoples against fascist occupation in the world and has become a symbol of peoples and women's resistance.

Women, in Rojava Revolution, stand against the bloody regime and the pressure of the Turkish state and against the genocide by IS terrorists.

The genocide attacks by the Turkish state and its mercenaries which began on 20 January against Afrin city continue with barbarity, and till now, hundreds of children, men and women and old people were martyred as a result of this brutal aggression on Afrin city, which various means of torture and violence were used in, and all these were done in full view of the European countries, Russia and America without moving, but they supported this aggression with weapons and equipment.

The fear of committing more brutal massacres led to the displacement of 200,000 people from Afrin to their homes and areas on 18 March. Since then, our people have been living in harsh and difficult conditions without any assistance provided by the organizations that advocate the rights of the oppressed peoples.

We must put pressure on the international organizations and countries to comply with the demands of our people and to abide by all their international and moral laws by their side in this ordeal against the killing and extermination’s machine that is practiced against the people, women and culture in addition to stopping this barbaric campaign."
