NATO will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday at its headquarters in the Belgian capital Brussels to discuss the western strikes against Syria.

An official in NATO said that representatives of the United States, France and Britain would provide information to the other Member States about the strikes that targeted governmental and military sites in Syria.

The emergency meeting would be chaired by NATO’s Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg with the permanent representatives of 29 NATO’s Member States. The meeting is expected to start at 1 pm GMT.

About the American strike launched on Syria on Saturday, NATO’s Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that he supports the strikes that would reduce the ability of the Syrian government to carry out more attacks against the people using chemical weapons."
