Education continues in al-Raqqa city despite difficulties

After liberating al-Raqqa city from grip of IS gangs the Pedagogy and Education Committee of al-Raqqa Civil Council has begun rehabilitation and removing mines from the schools which is opening doors to receive students eager for education where IS gangs deprived the students from learning during domination on al-Raqqa city.

Every morning, hundreds of al-Raqqa children attend their schools and sit on their seats. This has made the education wheel in the city improve and increase the levels of students as a result of their non-stop education since the opening of schools and the attention of teachers as is happening in many schools in the city, particularly Ma’moun School which is considered the first school in Saif al-Dawla street in the center of al-Raqqa city.

As a follow-up to the educational reality within the school walls, the students expressed their joy at returning to school again, adding that they are studying and striving to reach the high educational levels.

Students in the primary grades, including the third and fourth grades, reached the stage of learning English after their grades improved in Arabic as well as other subjects.

In this regard, the teacher at Al-Ma’moun School Yahya Yousef they have more than thirty departments in the school, which includes approximately 1400 students registered in the school.

During his speech Yahya noted that teachers are exerting their efforts to raise the level of this generation that is looking for knowledge.

At the end of his speech Yahya appealed to supporting and education offices to increase support for the school, especially al-Ma’moun and al-Raqqa's schools in general in order to come out with the aim of improving the educational reality, after what they suffered in previous periods.
