YPJ delegation meets Interim Govt. defense minister

A delegation from the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) leadership met with the minister of defense of the Syrian Interim Government, where the two sides discussed the mechanism and form of the units' participation within the structure of the Syrian army.

A delegation from the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) returned from Damascus after a meeting held with the Minister of Defense of the Syrian Interim Government, Marhaf Abo Qasra.

The delegation included the two commanders Suzdar Haji and Rohlat Afrin, along with the commander of the Women's Battalion in the Qamishlo Brigade Khalisa Ayed, and the YPJ spokesperson Roken Jamal.

This meeting comes within the framework of the agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Interim Government on January 29th, 2026, which aims to establish mechanisms for implementing the integration process.

According to sources within the YPJ delegation, the main axis of the meeting focused on the form of YPJ participation in the army.

The YPJ delegation is expected to issue an official statement in the coming period, including details and outcomes of the meeting.
