YPJ condemns mutilation of female Internal Security member in Aleppo

The General Command of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) issued a statement regarding the mutilation of the body of a female member of the Internal Security Forces in Aleppo, stressing that this act reflects the jihadist mentality adopted by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and mercenary groups backed by the Turkish occupation during the battle for Aleppo.

The statement said:

“According to available information, the body of a female fighter from the Internal Security Forces was mutilated. This is not the first such incident. However, our fighters and our people have never feared these brutal methods; instead, they have grown stronger in building their freedom in the face of them.

Female fighters of the Internal Security Forces continue a great resistance against the jihadist mentality adopted by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Turkish-backed armed groups in the battle of Aleppo.

Throughout the revolution in North and East Syria, women fighting for freedom have always been a source of fear for bloodthirsty enemies. Despite all inhumane attacks, women fighting for freedom have never surrendered. In the culture of North and East Syria and the Middle East, the dignity of women represents the dignity of society. For this reason, occupying groups attempt to break the will of the people through immoral methods of warfare.

The Women’s Protection Units have never retreated from their goal of achieving peace. We once again recall the steadfastness of Barin Kobani, Amara Rinas, and Amargi Çia—pioneering fighters who chose resistance despite brutal and inhumane attacks. Today, female members of the Internal Security Forces continue on this same path.

We in the YPJ consider ourselves responsible for protecting all women in Syria and around the world. We strongly condemn these inhumane acts and call for an end to all violations of the dignity of women and peoples, in loyalty to the legacy of all martyrs of the revolution and the martyrs of Aleppo who sacrificed their lives so that resistance may prevail.”
