The Jîn Women’s Association and the Newroz Cultural and Social Association, in collaboration with the "Association Moussawat - Wardah Boutros for Women's Work," organized a protest in front of the United Nations headquarters in Beirut, condemning the massacre that targeted Şengal on August 3, 2014, and expressing support for the resistance of Yazidi women.

The protest was attended by a group of labor activists, as well as Lebanese and Palestinian women’s associations.

Dr. Marie Debs, the president of the "Association Moussawat - Wardah Boutros for Women's Work," spoke on the occasion. She condemned the Şengal massacre and demanded that those responsible be held accountable, justice be served, and the fate of the thousands of Yazidi women who remain missing be revealed.

More than 6,000 Yazidi women and children were kidnapped by ISIS mercenaries following their attack on the Şengal district on August 3, 2014, after the Kurdistan Democratic Party forces abandoned their responsibility to protect Şengal.
