Women's Council Conference of TEV-DEM concludes with election of spokesperson 50 members

The first conference of the Women's Council of the Democratic Society Movement in North and East Syria began this morning under the slogan "Organized Women are a Guarantee for Building a Democratic Society." The conference, held in the Sardam Hall in the city of al-Hasakah, al-Jazira Canton, North and East Syria, featured 375 delegates.

After speeches, listening to Leader Abdullah Ocalan's assessments of women's liberation, and a television program highlighting the activities of the Women's Council, the council's bylaws were presented and discussed in Arabic and Kurdish by Maya Ahmed, a member of the movement. They were subsequently approved unanimously.

Elections were then held, with Nooshin Faraho elected as spokesperson for the Women's Council of the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM), and Sherine Hassan as her deputy. Fifty female members were also elected to the council, and an official logo was adopted for the council.

In her closing remarks, elected spokesperson Nooshin Faraho expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her, saying, "The trust you have bestowed upon me is a great responsibility, and I will carry it out with all sincerity and faith."

She added, "As women, we have decided to play our role consciously and clearly, based on a free and equal life. The council is not merely a regulatory body; it represents the unified voice of women in our society, and it is a step toward empowering active and leading women in various spheres of life."

In her remarks, she emphasized, "Today, we stand with pride and honor before the symbols who have shaped the present and are building the future. Women have protected the gains of the revolution, and they will always defend them. They have played a pivotal role in building and advancing society."

The conference concluded with the chanting of the slogan "Women, Life, Freedom."
