The “Jala Koza” area, located on the fringes of Mount Cudi near the city of Şırnak in Northern Kurdistan, is currently witnessing a major wildfire that has devastated vast areas of vegetation within a “special reserve” known for its rich biodiversity and its habitat for rare plant and animal species.

Despite the growing flames and thick smoke clearly visible from the city center local residents report that, so far, there has been no recorded attempt by firefighting teams or authorities to intervene, even as the fire continues to expand.
