The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today that unknown gunmen executed three brothers from the town of Hayalin in the western countryside of Hama, an area under the control of the Transitional Government.

According to the information received, the gunmen raided the victims’ home at night, forcibly abducted them to an unknown location, where they subjected them to severe torture before killing them and dumping their bodies by the side of a main road. The bodies of the three victims were subsequently transferred to Al-Suqaylabiyah Hospital in the countryside of Hama.

The incident provoked outrage and condemnation among residents due to the recurring raids and targeted killings, all taking place amid the absence of security, effective laws, and judicial accountability for the perpetrators.

Since the beginning of 2025, the number of victims of revenge killings and targeted assassinations in areas controlled by the Transitional Government in Syria has reached 1,068, including 1,015 men, 32 women, and 21 children.

In recent days, crimes motivated by revenge have surged in the Transitional Government-controlled areas. The latest case involved the killing of a citizen from the Alawite sect at a security checkpoint in the village of Azra'il in the countryside of Tartous, reportedly because he refused to imitate inhuman sounds.
