War wounded: leader's message is a ray of hope in establishing a world more peaceful

The War Wounded Federation in the North and East Syria region held a large public meeting, including war wounded individuals and their families from the regions of Tabqa, Afrin, and Shahba, at the Martyrs’ Memorial Hall in Tabqa. The meeting aimed to discuss recent political developments and emphasize the importance of regional unity in confronting current challenges.

The session began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs’ souls. Akid Afrin, an administrator of the War Wounded Federation in the Euphrates region, delivered a political briefing addressing regional and international developments. He affirmed that the Democratic Nation project, based on the thought and philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, represents a genuine alternative to capitalist modernity, nationalist ideologies, and authoritarianism. It constitutes a peaceful and democratic option to end wars and conflicts in the region.

The discussion also highlighted the intransigence of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government and its rejection of peace initiatives, in addition to the ramifications of the civil and sectarian war in Syria, which have caused divisions and strife among communities. Attendees also pointed to ongoing Turkish interventions, particularly the obstruction of implementing the March 10 Agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian government. They reaffirmed their commitment to the path of the martyrs in protecting achievements and continuing the struggle until freedom and justice are attained for the peoples of the region.

Separately, the War Wounded Federation representatives from Tabqa, Afrin, and Shahba issued a statement at the Tabqa Martyrs’ Memorial, affirming that Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s message for peace is a beacon of hope and salvation for humanity in these turbulent times, and a sincere call to build a world that is more just and humane.

The statement, read by War Wounded Federation member Hafiz Al-Hammoud from Tabqa and representative Daren Muhammad from Afrin and Shahba, emphasized that policies based on domination and exploitation have only brought destruction, while millions continue to seek freedom and dignity. It noted that the Middle East, given its historic significance, has become a battleground for intersecting international projects, forcing its peoples to pay a heavy price in blood and dignity.

The statement underscored the urgent need for solutions that transcend the logic of nation-states and sectarianism, and support a democratic model ensuring coexistence among communities. It highlighted that Leader Ocalan’s project places the human being at its center and offers an alternative vision based on freedom, equality, and women’s liberation as prerequisites for any genuine renaissance.

Finally, the statement stressed that Ocalan’s physical freedom is a fundamental condition for the success of any peace process in Turkey and the Middle East, and that his vision constitutes a cornerstone for a future characterized by social justice and human dignity.
