Eastern Kurdistan witnessed the murder of 10 women, in addition to the suicide of nine others in mysterious circumstances whose causes were not clearly revealed.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Association issued a report documenting these crimes, noting the absence of official investigations or accountability for perpetrators in most cases, raising concerns about official complicity or failure to protect women.

It is worth noting that in 2024, 158 women were killed in Iran and eastern Kurdistan, in addition to documenting more than 16,500 cases of domestic violence against women, indicating an escalation in violations against women amid the absence of effective mechanisms for protection and justice.
