Various events held to commemorate leader Ocalan's birthday

The Kongra Star is organizing a series of diverse activities and events to commemorate the birthday of leader Abdullah Ocalan, which falls on April 4th each year. These events will take place from April 1st till the occasion's date and beyond in some areas.

The events will be held in the cities of Qamishlo, Girkê Legê, Jel Agha, Derik, Amuda, Tirbê Spiyê, and Kobani. They will include celebrations for children, tree planting, lectures, meetings, as well as artistic and musical evenings.

In Qamishlo, on April 1st, the activity of taking the fingerprints of the martyrs' children were organized to demand the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan. This was followed by the release of doves of peace. On April 3rd, trees will be planted in Newroz Square in Hemo. The events will conclude on April 4th with a celebration and a military parade performance by the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) at the March 12th Stadium.

In Girkê Legê, a large meeting will be held on April 2nd at 11:00 AM. On April 4th, a tree-planting event will take place at 10:00 AM, followed by a party at the Community Protection Forces Center at 3:30 PM.

In Jel Agha, a tree-planting event will be held on April 2nd at 10:00 AM in al-Sadd (The Dam) area, accompanied by a party. On April 3rd, a party will be held for the children of martyrs, and the events will conclude on April 4th with a candle-lighting ceremony at 7:00 PM.

In Derik, a tree-planting event will be held on April 2nd at 9:30 AM in the garden of the conference hall. On April 3rd, a tree-planting event will take place at the Jian Project in the Malla Murzi village at 11:00 AM, followed by a party in the Hamza Bek Kojrat village at 2:00 PM. On April 4th, a party will be held at the Derik Complex Hall near the arch at 1:00 PM.

In Amuda, lectures will be held in the city and towns, along with a children's party on April 1st in al-Qaed (The Leader) Park. On April 2nd, a large meeting will be held at 11:00 AM, followed by a tree-planting activity at the Martyrs' Families Academy. On April 4th, a party will be held at the Beilasan Hall at 11:00 AM, while the tree-planting activity will continue in schools and towns on April 5th, along with holding a celebration for the martyrs' children.

In Tirbê Spiyê, a celebration for the children of martyrs will be held on April 1st at the Roj Club. On April 2nd, the Yazidi Women's Union will hold a meeting at the Yazidi House. On April 3rd at 10:00 AM, a tree-planting event will take place in coordination with the municipality, starting from the Asayish roundabout and proceeding to the archway. The events will conclude on April 4th with a celebration at the Leader Park at 3:00 PM.

In Kobani, two tree-planting events will be organized on April 1st; the first by the Young Women's Union at its center and the July 19th Park, and the second by the Environment Authority at Mishtanur Hill at 11:00 AM. On April 2nd, a celebration for the children of martyrs will be held at the Baqi Khedo Center at 11:00 AM, followed by a musical evening at the same location at 2:00 PM. The events will conclude on April 4th, 2026, with a car procession departing from the Free Woman Square at 10:00 AM towards the village of Ablur, where the main celebration will begin at 12:00 PM.
