U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee calls for de-escalation in Aleppo

The U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee expressed its deep concern over the escalation in Aleppo and its countryside, and called for an urgent de-escalation and the need to protect all Syrian communities.

The U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee posted a statement on its official platform, "X," expressing its concern over the escalation of violence in Aleppo.

According to the statement, "We continue to monitor the situation in Aleppo with grave concern, and call for an immediate de-escalation. All displaced civilians must be allowed to return to their homes, and food and essential supplies must be accessed to the Syrian Kurdish regions in need. It is imperative that all Syrian communities be protected and fully represented in the new Syria."

On January 6th, the mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government launched attacks on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, where the Internal Security Forces repelled the attacks during six days of fierce resistance. However, the towns of Deir Hafer and Maskana are currently under bombardment by artillery and drones.
