Unstable weather conditions continue until friday in Syria

Syria is witnessing a gradual decrease in temperatures, falling 3 to 6 degrees Celsius below the seasonal average across most areas, alongside continued rainfall in several cities.

The National Meteorological Center stated that today, Thursday, the weather will be generally partly cloudy, with expectations of scattered rain showers of varying intensity. These may be thundery and heavy, especially in the coastal region and parts of the northwest, while dusty conditions will prevail in the eastern regions and the Badia desert.

The center also indicated that nighttime weather will be relatively cold in most areas, and colder over mountainous regions, with fog formation expected during the early morning hours in the central region, eastern Qalamoun, the Damascus Ghouta, and parts of the northern region and Jazira.

Winds will be westerly to southwesterly, turning at night in inland areas to westerly and northwesterly, at light to moderate speeds with active gusts that may exceed 65 km/h, particularly in the southern and central regions, while sea conditions remain moderate.

The low-pressure system, which began yesterday, is expected to continue until Friday evening, bringing heavy thundery rainfall to the coastal regions and the northwestern part of the country, in addition to western parts of Idlib and Aleppo provinces.
