University of Rojava receives delegation from Higher Education Ministry

The University of Rojava in Qamishlo, Jazira Region, on Thursday morning received a delegation from the interim government's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Minister Dr. Marwan al-Halabi and accompanied by Hasakah Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad.

They were welcomed by university representatives, Qamishlo District Director Jihan Hassam, and Hassan Sharo, head of the Integration Committee in the Autonomous Administration.

The two sides are currently holding a closed-door meeting, with discussions expected to focus on the status of higher education and the recognition of university degrees issued by universities affiliated with the Autonomous Administration.

On Wednesday, Governor Nour al-Din Ahmad received al-Halabi in the presence of Hassan Sharo and officials responsible for higher education affairs.

The two sides reviewed the state of the higher education sector in Hasakah province, discussing the main challenges and needs facing educational institutions to help improve the quality of education and services provided to students.

The minister and the governor also met with the administrative and academic staff of the faculties and institutes affiliated with the University of al-Furat in Hasakah at the Faculty of Law building.
