UN committee: Report on Tishreen Dam developments will be issued in February

Since the fall of the Ba'ath regime, the Turkish occupation and its affiliated mercenaries have been conducting extensive attacks on NE  Syria, with a pronounced focus on the Tishreen Dam, its surroundings, and the Qaraqozak Bridge.

 To protect the dam from collapse and halt Turkish aggression, convoys of civilians from across NE Syria converged on the Tishreen Dam on January 8. Protests at the dam have been ongoing since that date.

 These Turkish attacks on the Tishreen Dam have led to widespread power and water outages in surrounding areas. The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries have directly targeted the dam's infrastructure as well as protesting civilians through artillery and airstrikes, resulting in the martyrdom of 21 civilians and injuries to 203 others, according to ANHA documentation and the records of the Health Authority of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

 Regarding the crimes and attacks targeting civilians and vital public infrastructure in Northern Syria, ANHA agency reached out to the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Syria.

 When asked whether the Commission is monitoring the violations, crimes, and bombardment affecting civilians by the Turkish occupation, which has been targeting the Tishreen Dam, the Commission confirmed, "We are closely monitoring the situation and are currently investigating these allegations."

 The Commission further stated that, following its investigation, it intends to release a report in February addressing these violations and crimes.
