Two young men killed in war remnant explosion south of Aleppo

Two young men were killed in an explosion caused by remnants of war in southern Aleppo countryside, within areas controlled by the Interim Government. The incident comes amid a rise in the number of victims due to unexploded ordnance, following the return of many Syrians to their home areas.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights today, two young men were killed when a landmine — a remnant of the war — exploded in the Al-Zbeib area of southern Aleppo countryside, under the control of the Interim Government.

The mine detonated while the two were riding a motorcycle near the Talfeh artesian well in southern Aleppo countryside, killing them instantly.

Since the fall of the Assad regime on December 8, 2024, until today, a total of 647 civilians have been killed or injured due to explosions of war remnants, including 186 children and 42 women.
